How to use this resource

This versatile resource offers multiple ways to engage your form group during those final weeks of term. Display the activity grid on your board and allow students to choose their preferred activity, use the worksheet version for students to track their completion, or cut out the activity cards and place them in a basket or plastic pocket for students to select from at any time. The PowerPoint version is perfect for paper-free classrooms, featuring a menu slide linking to detailed instructions for each activity.

These activities work brilliantly as stand-alone tasks during a single form period or can be extended across multiple sessions, with students sharing their reflections with peers. Each activity encourages students to meaningfully reflect on their academic year while developing important skills such as critical thinking, communication and self-awareness.

  • End of year celebration: Students suggest a theme and activities for an end-of-year form celebration.
  • Peer interviews: Students create questions about the school year, interview a classmate and summarise responses.
  • Career connections: Students choose one topic studied and write about how it relates to a potential career.
  • Two truths and a lie: Students write two true statements and one false statement about school events from the year.
  • Year in review: Students list three key moments from the academic year, including school events and personal achievements.
  • Letter to your future self: Students write a letter to themselves to be opened next year, including goals and advice.
  • Skills inventory: Students identify three skills they've developed this year with brief examples of each.
