Using an image of an astronaut and the trailer of the film 'Gravity', students complete several tasks to develop their vocabulary and then write a short descriptive piece.
Activities include:
- a warm-up task to change the word class of interesting vocabulary
- a creative vocabulary task based on a picture prompt of an astronaut
- a vocabulary exploration task based on editing the sentence: The figure was floating in space.
- a vocabulary task using the Gravity film trailer as a prompt
- an imaginative writing task where students write a third person narrative of 200 words
- peer assessment support.
