A card-sorting activity to help students prepare for a 'How far do you agree?' question on Hitler's foreign policy – in particular, why the international community let him get away with his expansionist policy until 1939.
Students sort or colour-code reasons into two categories: those that support an intentionalist view (Hitler's skills and abilities) and those that support a structuralist view (a favourable international climate).
They then have the opportunity to plan and write an answer to an exam-style question.
